The majority are histopathologically benign. This study aimed to retrospectively investigate the histopathological results of masses excised from the hands and wrists of 146 patients between 2015 and 2017. Seventy-nine (54%) of the patients were female, and 67 (46%) were male, with a mean age of 43 years (range 0–84). Based on histopathological findings, 7 cases (4.8%) were classified as malignant, 127 cases (86.9%) as benign, 11 cases (7.5%) as premalignant, and 1 case (0.8%) as a mesenchymal tumor of unspecified type. The two most frequent tumors were pyogenic granulomas and giant cell tumors of the tendon sheath (GCTTS), while ganglion cysts were the most common lesions, occurring more frequently in women of advanced age. Awareness of the histopathological spectrum and characteristics of hand lesions can prevent misdiagnoses and assist in appropriate surgical management.
